Barbara is a native of Natchez, MS. and graduated in 1992 from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and Journalism. She is also a 1996 graduate from the Daniel J. Evans School of Public Affairs at the University of Washington in Seattle where she earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Education and Social Policy.
Barbara Moore has been with the City of College Station for 19 years. Twelve of those years she was the city’s Neighborhood and Community Coordinator, working with the city HOAs, neighborhood associations and community groups. After that, she was an Assistant to the City Manager-Special Projects for several years before taking on her current role. She is currently the University and Community Relations Manager, where she works closely with Texas A&M on student relations. Currently, she continues to lead the city’s neighborhood, community, and university relations efforts, along with several civic engagement programs.
She also has an extensive background in non-profit and faith-based operations, having been an Executive Director, Program Director and a Development Directors for various nonprofit organizations.
Barbara has committed her entire career to serving others, working her entire career in the nonprofit world and local government. She loves to give back to the local community through serving on nonprofit boards and volunteering.
She and her husband, Anthony, are the proud parents of 3 young adults and are now empty nesters and new grandparents.
