As Executive Dean of Blinn College’s campus at Texas A&M-RELLIS, Chris oversees facilities and operations serving over 4,000 students, faculty and staff.

A 23-year U.S. Navy veteran, he previously served as Executive Officer of the Texas A&M Naval ROTC and Associate Professor of Naval Science.

Commander Marrs’ military career includes service as naval flight officer, flying combat missions in the F/A-18F Super Hornet strike-fighter jet from the decks of multiple U.S. Navy aircraft carriers.

Committed to mentoring our next generation of leaders, Chris serves as an adjunct professor for Texas A&M University Corpus Christi’s College of Business where he teaches a leadership class to undergraduate seniors at Texas A&M-RELLIS.

On the side, Chris finds purpose as a certified life coach, helping others navigate life transitions and build professional relationships. He attributes his love for people to his travels to over 30 countries and provinces during his time on active duty.

Chris holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from the University of Central Missouri.

Above all, Chris admits to living a fairly “boring” life, and places the highest value on quiet time, exploring the outdoors, reading, and engaging in meaningful conversations with others.
