Associate Vice President for Strategic Alliances in the Office of the Provost, Clemson University

Dr. Tia N. Dumas is a national leader on innovative systems and practices that support the advancement of faculty, staff, and students pursuing diverse careers. She has made it her life’s work to support learners of all ages and backgrounds actualize their authentic selves for positive local and global impacts. With an uncanny knack for making large, complex issues easily digestible for all learners, Dr. Dumas organizes and mobilizes people to transform higher education.

Dr. Dumas is Associate Vice President for Strategic Alliances and Clinical Associate Professor at Clemson University, where she develops strategies to diversify the academic workforce and applies them to real-world challenges colleges face. She works at the nexus of academic, corporate, and community relationships to support the equitable recruitment, retention, and advancement of academic personnel from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Dumas is the first person to hold this position in Clemson University history.
