On March 4, 2025, former ITGA President Mayor Steve Patterson from Athens, Ohio, attended the Stronger Cities Network event in Manchester, England. Hosted by Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham, the network celebrated its 10th anniversary with a mission to combat hate, extremism, and polarization. Mayors from across Europe and the USA gathered to discuss unity, hope, and the importance of creating actionable plans for the future.
Steve Patterson shared his thoughts on the event, saying, "It's inspiring to see leaders from around the world come together with a shared vision of creating a more inclusive and harmonious society. The discussions and collaborations here are crucial for building a better future."
