Join us on May 19, from 12:00pm-4:00pm  for the ITGA Workshop on Economic Development & Event Management- Leveraging University Facilities for Events in teh summer.

In the last few years, several major universities have used their facilities to bring in large athletics events and concerts. These events can be huge economic development opportunities for universities and college towns. Universities are home to world-class facilities—stadiums, auditoriums, conference halls, green spaces, and more—that often sit underutilized outside of academic schedules. This workshop explores how higher education institutions, and their communities can strategically open their doors to opportunities to host a variety of events.

You will hear about how Texas A&M hosted a professional soccer match and a large concert at Kyle Field and how those events gave a huge boost to the local economy.

This workshop is essential for any university official and college town leaders that wants to learn how to use university facilities to bring in events, how to manage those events and partner with the local community.
