Dr. William DeJong served as a Professor of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health and is presently an Adjunct Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. Bill was director of the U.S. Department of Education's Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Prevention from 1995 to 2004 and was awarded the inaugural College Leadership Award by the American Public Health in 2000. He also served as an executive director at Outside The Classroom from 2007 to 2011. In this role, he oversaw the development and revision of AlcoholEdu for College, an online alcohol education course taken each year by about one-third of the nation’s first-year college students. He is the author of over 450 monographs, book chapters, academic papers, and other publications and materials on the subjects of substance abuse prevention, health promotion, criminal justice, social psychology, and the use of media to change social norms and behaviors. Over the past 32 years, he has participated in over 250 conferences and workshops as a keynote speaker, invited speaker, or discussant.
Bill is the primary reviewer for the Great Plays grant program, which is managed by ITGA on behalf of the Molson Coors Company.
