The tagline for UMass–Amherst — "Be Bold. Be True. Be You." — could well apply to Sally Linowski, the university’s associate dean of students for off-campus student life and community engagement. A past contributor to ITGA programming on college health and substance abuse prevention, Linowski cites "creative solutions to wicked problems" as among the skills she brings as a new board member.
ITGA's biggest challenges this year will be navigating the mental health issues, social isolation, financial stress, and substance abuse that COVID has wrought or worsened. A consultant focused on healthy and safe communities, Linowski will leverage her expertise in substance abuse prevention and health promotion strategies and her coalition-building work with landlords, law enforcement, local government, and more to keep ITGA an "innovative, collaborative and forward-thinking" organization.
