An art professor’s journey through Italy has inspired a unique creative challenge at Ohio Northern University. In the Visual Literacy classroom, students are dreaming up their own 21st century “utopia,” using five historic Italian towns as a launchpad for their own visions.

In years past when disruptive student behavior impacted the Fort Collins community it was met with traditional law enforcement approach.  Over time Colorado State University and the City of Fort Collins came together to develop solution focused strategies that combine enforcement, education and accountability on and off-campus.  This session will highlight some of the 20-year history and offer strategies that can be used to create a partnership that values community-policing combined with a strong partnership with on-campus student conduct. The Hillsborough Street Community Service Corporation is a business and cultural district in Raleigh, North Carolina. The district is the business corridor running next to NC state  encompasses (four streets that contain) bars, restaurants, banks and coffee shops. This session will discuss the history of the street, the creation of the district and the redevelopment plans and partnerships that were created.  Success stores will be shared and the session will end with some of the ways the health and economic crisis has impacted activities and priorities. Presenter: Jeff Murison, President and CEO of HSCSC.{/popup}
