In 2004, the City of San Luis Obispo, Cuesta College, Cal Poly and local non-profit Creative Mediation developed and implemented a unique approach to resolving community disputes. Out of their ingenuity was born the SLO Solutions program. This opened new windows of opportunity for resolving a range of conflicts including landlord-tenant, roommate and neighbor-neighbor disputes. With both student residents and non-student residents residing in the city, this program offers prevention and resolution services to support a civil and healthy community for all. Today the program continues to provide free conflict coaching, referral, mediation and training services to over 1,000 residents per year.
