The co-applicant on this project is Near West Side Partners, Inc., a collaborative anchor-led organization comprised of five key institutions. This presentation will share lessons learned so far about revitalizing public housing and improving neighborhood conditions through the Choice Neighborhood Initiative. These siloed approaches however do not always address the complete needs of a community. Comprehensive course-community programs take engagement to a higher level, addressing real world challenges with the expertise of faculty, the ingenuity of students, and the perspectives from community partners.
